Babassu oil
Made from the seeds of the babassu palm, native to the Amazon rainforest. It is a highly hydrating and calming oil, since about half of its fatty acids are lauric acids (a lipid — a water-insoluble biomolecule that makes up most oils and waxes). This acid is also a major source of antimicrobial properties. And last but not least, while many oils are high in lauric acid, babassu oil has the big advantage of being non-comedogenic — it does not clog pores because it absorbs quickly and efficiently.
Aloe vera juice
Made from the succulent leaf of the Aloe vera plant (botanically meaning thick, fleshy, and full of fluid juices), this juice is extracted from the leaves, which are rich in antioxidants, folic acid, and potassium that help calm and soften the skin. These elements are also useful for skin conditions such as acne, dermatitis, and eczema — largely thanks to powerful antioxidants that speed up skin regeneration, reduce inflammation, and help prevent infection.
Lactococcus ferment lysate (postbiotic)
A postbiotic is a byproduct of the fermentation process of probiotic bacteria. For skincare use, it goes through a “lysate” process to remove any bacteria from the postbiotic. It has strong anti-aging benefits because it supports both cell cohesion and skin renewal (helping shed dead cells effectively).
Alaria esculenta (seaweed)
Alaria esculenta is an edible seaweed from Great Britain. It looks fragile, but its long shape (up to 2 m) withstands wave movement by undulating with them. It supports antioxidant activity, energizes the skin by helping it take in oxygen nutrients, and boosts collagen production and hyaluronic acid synthesis.
Sea buckthorn
Sea buckthorn is a deciduous shrub that grows orange-yellow berries. They are edible and have interesting antimicrobial and antiviral properties… as well as providing a natural protective barrier against UV rays. They are also rich in omega-7, which supports hydration, elasticity, and skin softness.
